Life has a funny way of working out.
My fiance and I are both Ole Miss alumni, and while our days in Oxford are behind us, that Ole Miss pride never left. These days, we call Jacksonville Beaches home, trading the Grove for the ocean — but we’re still just as invested in Rebel football as ever.
So when Ole Miss punched its ticket to the national championship semifinals, you better believe we felt it all the way down here in Florida.
Ole Miss in the National Spotlight
If you went to Ole Miss, you know this kind of moment doesn’t come around often.
Watching this team make a legitimate run at a national championship hits different. It brings back memories of Saturdays in Oxford, packed game days, tailgates, and the feeling that anything could happen. Now, instead of walking to Vaught-Hemingway, we’re watching games from the Beaches — but the energy is still there.
Ole Miss vs Georgia — Why I Like Our Chances
Let’s be honest — Georgia is a powerhouse. They’ve earned that reputation.
But I genuinely like Ole Miss in this matchup. I think we match up well, I think we’re battle-tested, and I think this team believes it belongs here. Confidence matters at this level, and Ole Miss has it right now.
I’m not saying it’s going to be easy, but I do think we’re going to beat Georgia and keep this run alive. There’s something special about this season, and Rebel fans everywhere can feel it.
Ole Miss Pride, Even From Florida
Living in Jacksonville Beaches means we’re surrounded by SEC fans from all over — Florida, Georgia, Alabama, LSU — you name it. But that just makes it more fun. Ole Miss fans tend to find each other, even hundreds of miles from Oxford.
Whether it’s watching the game at home, finding a local spot with the game on, or just repping Ole Miss gear around town, we’re proudly bringing a little Grove energy to the Beaches.
